Have you ever wanted to make AI-generated visuals dance to music?
This is your opportunity to merge machine learning with audiovisual creativity and be part of the future of generative media at ICIAP 2025.

THE CHALLENGE

Choose one of the official audio tracks composed by a professional DJ exclusively for this challenge and use it as the foundation for your visual creation.
Your mission: develop a custom AI-based video generation model to create a visual that accompanies the music. No manual editing—just pure algorithmic imagination.

Each team is required to submit a video generated with their own AI-based model, in sync with one of the official music tracks provided, and a brief technical report to describe the developed model.
Optionally, you can also submit a draft version of the AI-generated video by August 10, 2025 to receive early artistic feedback from a panel of experts.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

The challenge is open to all ICIAP 2025 registered attendees.
To join the challenge:

1. download one of the official music tracks available here

2. develop and apply your own AI-based video generation model to create a visual sequence that stays in sync with the chosen track

3. send your contribution by August 31, 2025, to nightvision@iciap.org

Your submission must include:

• A video generated using an original AI-based model, representing an animation that visually responds to one of the official music tracks provided. Only algorithmically generated content is allowed — no manually edited footage or filmed material

• A short technical report (min 2 - max 4 pages) explaining the model and creative approach

There is no limit to the number of participants or teams — we welcome all creative contributions!

JUDGING & AWARDS

An international jury of experts from academia, digital art, and entertainment will evaluate the submissions based on:

• Creativity & originality

• Technical quality

• Aesthetic coherence with the music

The top-ranked team will be awarded during the ICIAP 2025 Awards Ceremony.
All accepted videos will be screened during a sunset aperitivo event at the Circolo degli Illuminati, accompanied by music and networking.

THE PRIZE

🏆 Official Recognition at the ICIAP 2025 Awards Ceremony
🌐 Online Publication of all submissions (ranked), including:

• Video

• Audio track

• Technical report

Participation in Challenge 1 may also offer priority consideration for Challenge 2 (Live VJ Set).

TIMELINE

• Optional draft submission (for feedback): August 10, 2025

• Screening & Awards: September 18, 2025 (during ICIAP social events)
